Good evening. This is a reminder from Birch River Elementary School to all families that as we celebrate our 5th grade students tomorrow we need everyone to please enter through the front door and through the metal detector before proceeding to the multi purpose room. Please leave all metal devices and items in your car or at home. Our hearts go out to the families and community of the elementary school students and staff in Texas for their great loss. Our flag will be flown at half mass the remainder of the week.

Tomorrow, May 6th is School Lunch Hero Day! We would like to show our deepest gratitude to Ms. Pam and Ms. Connie. They work extremely hard to make sure our students are fed and happy each day! We would also like to announce that tomorrow is popcorn day and all popcorn will be available for $1.

Birch River Elementary is happy to announce that we are the proud recipients of a Little General and Exxon Mobil $500.00 grant. We’re including pictures of our local store with a couple of their friendly faces. Please give them all a big thank you when you see them. As a staff, we would also like to praise and thank our families for such a smooth transition regarding the updated arrival and dismissal procedures for car riders and walkers. Safety is our top priority for all. Don’t forget our pajama day will be this Friday celebrating all students and staff. We’ve got this!!

Let’s relax and celebrate how great our students are! Pajama day will be all day Friday. Students and staff may wear their pj’s as a thank you for all their hard work. We appreciate you all!

This is a reminder from Birch River Elementary that during morning drop off and afternoon pickup, all parents and guardians need to exit their vehicles and escort their children to and from the building. In the afternoon this requires meeting the student at the front or back gate at the bottom of the parking lot and then be escorted by an adult to their home or vehicle. Please be aware that your child cannot always be in the line of vision of vehicles pulling in or out of the parking lot and this is becoming a serious issue. For safety and liability, running and playing is not permitted in the parking lot, on the rails, the side walk,or in the bushes in front of the school. The safety of all children and adults is our top priority. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
